The twisted end should go into the emulator. You are bidding on a pre owned Yamaha PSR350 61-Key Keyboard With Floppy Disk Drive This keyboard works perfectly and sounds amazing. The fitting of the floppy drive cable is very important, you must get it the correct way around. If you have retained your disk drive you might need a special cable to be able to switch between disk drive and emulator. Several emulators come set up ready for Amiga or other computers and they need to have the jumpers set correctly in order to work as PC-type floppy drive emulators in Technics keyboards. I have some limited knowledge of these things, here are a few points of interest: I'm interested in the subject because I intend to fit HxC SD Card emulators into a few of my keyboards in due course, to speed things up a bit! I think that one of our members has a KN6000 with an emulator in, I'll try to find out who that is, I remember something from a long time ago.
I can find no other information on what the other links do. There are several links on the back of the Gotek emulator, one of which selects the emulator as an A or B Drive if fitted in a computer.
If I answer 'yes' it tries to start the format and then comes up with "Unrecognisable disc". What happens is the emulator lights up and counts the 100 partitions (selected by 2 push buttons on the front of the emulator), but when I press the 'Disk' and then 'Load' buttons on the KN6000 it asks if I want to format the disk.
According to what I have read I need to format the memory stick with the provided software and that should be that. I have fitted one recently but cannot get it work correctly. What this emulator does is utilise a partitioned USB memory stick as 100 floppy disks, thus eliminating the need to keep changing disks. Has anyone had experience of using a Gotek floppy disk emulator fitted into a Technics KN6000?
